Even when one is on probation, they may also face curfews, registration requirements, the loss of the right to bear arms and vote, the loss of a driver’s license, and the ability to live where they choose among other conditions placed upon them by their conviction. One may also suffer from the mar that such a conviction will place on their record. Alternative sentencing possibilities may lessen the affect of a felony conviction on employment/educational opportunities. These include first offender treatment, pretrial diversion, first offender for drug cases, and others.

Due to the serious consequences of a felony conviction, all avenues of defense must be pursued.
